Carifu Technologies LLC
Version 1.0 · Effective date: September 1, 2026 · Last updated: September 1, 2026
Canonical route: /legal/terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Carifu Technologies LLC (“Carifu,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your access to and use of the Carifu platform, including the website at carifu.com and Carifu’s applications and services (together, the “Platform”). Section 16 contains a binding individual arbitration provision and a class-action waiver that affect how disputes are resolved. Please read these Terms carefully.
1. Acceptance and Eligibility
By creating an account, clicking to accept, or otherwise accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to the policies they incorporate in Section 17. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use the Platform on behalf of a business, you represent that you are authorized to bind that business, and “you” includes that business.
2. Definitions
“Platform” means the carifu.com website and Carifu’s applications, features, and services.
“Services” means the functionality Carifu makes available through the Platform.
“User” means anyone who accesses or uses the Platform, including Customers and Mechanics.
“Customer” means a vehicle owner or other person who uses the Platform to find, request quotes from, communicate with, or book a Mechanic.
“Mechanic” means an independent automotive repair shop, mobile mechanic, or towing provider that uses the Platform to offer Automotive Services.
“Automotive Services” means the vehicle inspection, repair, maintenance, towing, and related services that Mechanics offer and perform. Carifu does not perform Automotive Services.
“Quote” means a priced offer of Automotive Services that a Mechanic prepares in response to a Customer request. “Booking” means a Customer’s acceptance of a Quote and the scheduling of Automotive Services.
“Content” means information you submit through the Platform, such as text, photos, documents, reviews, ratings, messages, and profile information.
“Mechanic Testimonial” means a statement submitted by a Mechanic about the Mechanic’s experience with Carifu or the Platform for possible public display by Carifu. A Mechanic Testimonial is separate from a Customer review of Automotive Services.
“Support Ticket” means a request for help, complaint, bug report, account question, or other support communication submitted through the Platform.
“Coupon” means a code, credit, or promotion issued by Carifu that may reduce all or part of an eligible Subscription charge for a stated period or number of uses, subject to the terms displayed with the Coupon.
“Transaction” means the agreement for Automotive Services formed directly between a Customer and a Mechanic. Carifu is not a party to any Transaction.
“Active Market” means a city or area where Carifu has activated the marketplace so that features such as quoting, booking, Subscriptions, promotions, and the “Verified” designation are available. At launch, the only Active Market is Tucson, Arizona.
“Prelaunch Market” means a city or area that Carifu has affirmatively designated for launch preparation or evaluation, but where Carifu has not activated the marketplace. A Prelaunch Market designation does not promise that Carifu will launch there or establish a launch date.
“Inactive Market” means a city or area that is not an Active Market and that Carifu has not currently designated as a Prelaunch Market, or where Carifu has paused or deactivated marketplace operations. An Inactive Market has no current marketplace activation designation or promised launch schedule.
“Market Status” means Carifu’s separate classification of a city or area as Active, Prelaunch, or Inactive. A business profile’s verification status does not determine its Market Status.
“Prelaunch Account” means a restricted, non-marketplace account that Carifu may make available to a User located in a Prelaunch or Inactive Market, as described in Section 4. Creating or holding a Prelaunch Account does not change the area’s Market Status.
“Preloaded Profile” or “Unclaimed Profile” means a limited business profile that Carifu creates for an automotive business using public or properly licensed third-party information and that the business has not claimed, as described in Section 4.
“Profile Boost” means a paid or plan-included promotional feature that may temporarily increase a Mechanic profile’s visibility or placement within designated areas of the Platform.
“Banner Advertisement” means paid or plan-included advertising content displayed in a designated banner, card, search, category, profile, or similar advertising location on the Platform.
“Advertising Services” means Profile Boosts, Banner Advertisements, sponsored placement, and other paid or plan-included promotional features Carifu may offer.
3. What Carifu Is and Is Not
Carifu operates a vertical software platform and a marketplace that helps Customers discover Mechanics and helps Mechanics offer their Automotive Services, communicate, quote, schedule inspections, manage Bookings, and purchase or use available Advertising Services. Carifu is a neutral technology platform.
Carifu is not an automotive repair shop, and Carifu does not perform, supervise, direct, or control Automotive Services. Mechanics are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents, partners, or franchisees of Carifu. Any Transaction for Automotive Services is formed solely between the Customer and the Mechanic, and Carifu is not a party to it.
Carifu does not guarantee that any Customer will receive requests, Quotes, or Bookings, or that any Mechanic will be available, suitable, licensed, insured, or satisfactory. You are solely responsible for your decisions to offer, request, accept, or perform Automotive Services.
4. Availability, Market Status, Limited Access, and Preloaded Profiles
4.1 Active markets
The active Carifu marketplace initially operates only in Tucson, Arizona. Carifu’s website may be accessed from other locations, and Carifu may add new markets over time. Marketplace features, including quoting, booking, Subscriptions, promotions, and the “Verified” designation, are available only in an Active Market.
4.2 Prelaunch and Inactive Markets
A Prelaunch Market is an area Carifu has designated for launch preparation or evaluation but has not activated. An Inactive Market is an area with no current Prelaunch or Active designation, or an area where marketplace operations have been paused or deactivated. Neither status permits active marketplace functions. A Prelaunch designation does not guarantee activation or a launch date, and acceptance of a launch request in an Inactive Market does not mean Carifu plans to launch there.
4.3 Restricted out-of-market accounts
If you are located in a Prelaunch or Inactive Market, Carifu may allow you to create a restricted Prelaunch Account to request that Carifu launch in your area, join a launch-notification list, manage your notification preferences, update your contact information, and, if you are an automotive business, claim a Preloaded Profile. Account creation, a profile claim, or a launch request does not change your area’s Market Status or promise future activation. When you register outside an Active Market, Carifu displays a status-appropriate notice substantially as follows:
We haven’t launched in your city yet. Please sign up and fill out the interest form, and we’ll start working on bringing Carifu to your city.
4.4 Restricted-account permissions and limits
Outside an Active Market, Customers may create a limited account; provide their city, state, and ZIP code; request Carifu’s launch; manage launch-notification preferences; update their contact information; and close their account or request deletion, subject to applicable retention requirements.
Outside an Active Market, Mechanics may create a limited account; request launch in their area; claim a Preloaded Profile; submit preliminary ownership information; correct limited business information; and receive launch notifications.
Unless Carifu expressly activates your market, Prelaunch Account users in either a Prelaunch or Inactive Market may not request or send active automotive-service Quotes, create Bookings, purchase an active paid Subscription, create active promotions, display an active “Verified” designation, or represent that Carifu is operational or scheduled to launch in their market. Carifu may provide different limited informational or notification features in Prelaunch and Inactive Markets, but those differences do not activate marketplace services.
4.5 Preloaded and unclaimed profiles
Carifu may create limited, unclaimed profiles for automotive businesses across the United States using public or properly licensed third-party business information. Each Unclaimed Profile is clearly and conspicuously labeled “Unclaimed” and displays the following notice:
This business has not claimed or verified this profile. Information may be obtained from public or third-party sources and may be incomplete or outdated. This listing does not indicate participation in, affiliation with, or endorsement by Carifu.
Every Unclaimed Profile provides a way to claim the profile and a way to request removal or suppression. Carifu does not currently offer a process to edit or correct information while a profile remains unclaimed. A business that wants to manage or update profile information must first complete Carifu’s profile-claim process. An Unclaimed Profile does not display the “Verified” designation, does not indicate that the business created the profile or participates in Carifu, and does not offer active quote or booking functionality outside an Active Market. The meaning and limits of the “Verified” designation are described in the Verification Terms and Disclaimer, and further information about profiles appears in the Website and Marketplace Disclaimer.
4.6 Claiming a profile
Claiming a Preloaded Profile confirms only that Carifu approved the claimant’s authority to manage that profile. Profile ownership approval is separate from full mechanic verification, “Verified” status, Subscription activation, marketplace activation in a city, and authorization to receive Quotes or Bookings. Profile status follows this sequence: Unclaimed; Claim Pending; Claimed — Not Verified; Verification in Progress; and Verified, which is available only after verification and activation in an Active Market. Mechanic claim and verification obligations are further described in the Mechanic Agreement and the Verification Terms and Disclaimer.
5. Customer Accounts and Responsibilities
To use most features you must create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information, and keep it updated. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us promptly at support@carifu.com if you believe your account has been used without your authorization.
You may add and manage vehicles, search for Mechanics, save favorite Mechanics, and receive Platform notifications. You are responsible for the information you provide about your vehicles and service needs.
6. Quotes, Revisions, Inspections, and Bookings
The Platform lets a Customer request a Quote for one or more services, and lets a Mechanic prepare, send, and revise Quotes. A Customer may accept or decline individual quoted services, request or accept an inspection appointment, and approve a revised Quote. A Mechanic may enter a state sales-tax rate in its profile, and the Platform may use that rate to calculate estimated tax on Quotes and invoices. The rate is supplied and controlled by the Mechanic; Carifu does not monitor or verify that it is accurate, current, properly sourced, or legally applicable.
A Quote is an offer by a Mechanic. When a Customer accepts a Quote, a Booking is created and a Transaction is formed directly between the Customer and the Mechanic on the terms of the Quote. A Mechanic may propose modifications to a Booking, which take effect only if the Customer approves them. Cancellations, rescheduling, and changes are handled through the Platform and the terms of the Transaction.
A Carifu Quote or Booking is a Platform record and does not replace any written estimate, repair order, inspection disclosure, customer authorization, warranty, invoice, tax record, or other documentation that a Mechanic must provide under applicable law. Customers should ask the Mechanic about any tax calculation that appears incorrect.
7. Direct Customer–Mechanic Transactions and Payments
Automotive Services are provided by the Mechanic under a Transaction to which Carifu is not a party. During the initial launch, Carifu does not process Customer payments for Automotive Services. Customers pay Mechanics directly. Carifu does not hold Customer funds and does not provide escrow, deposits, financing, warranties, or insurance for Automotive Services.
You are solely responsible for evaluating and selecting a Mechanic, for confirming any licensing or insurance you consider relevant, for the scope and price of any Automotive Services, and for inspecting and accepting the work. Disputes about Automotive Services are between the Customer and the Mechanic.
8. User Content
You may submit Content through the Platform. You are responsible for your Content, and you represent that you have the rights necessary to submit it and that it is accurate and lawful.
You retain ownership of your Content. You grant Carifu a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting and display, publish, and display your Content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Platform. Carifu does not claim ownership of your Content.
This license does not authorize Carifu to publicly display or use for promotional purposes your government-issued identification, verification documents, payment information, private messages, or other nonpublic personal information. Carifu handles such information only as described in the Privacy and Cookie Policy.
9. Communications
By creating an account, you will receive account, security, and service messages that are part of the Services. Carifu also uses SMS for phone-number verification and authentication. Carifu may provide in-app messaging, Support Tickets, and service reminders through one or more available channels. Additional communication categories, channel availability, marketing preferences, electronic-records consent, and how to opt out are described in the SMS and Communications Policy. Message and data rates may apply.
10. Reviews
A Customer may submit a review based on Automotive Services actually received. Reviews and ratings are governed by the Platform Rules. Reviews reflect the views of the Users who post them, not Carifu. Mechanics cannot post a public response directly in the review section. A Mechanic may send the Customer a private in-app message, but may not harass, threaten, pressure, offer an improper incentive, or retaliate against the Customer because of a review.
Carifu may invite Mechanics to submit Mechanic Testimonials about their experience with Carifu or the Platform. Every Mechanic Testimonial must be reviewed and affirmatively approved by Carifu before public display. Submission does not guarantee publication. Carifu may edit a testimonial for length or clarity without materially changing its meaning, may request confirmation or substantiation, and may reject, suspend, or remove it. Carifu will not fabricate a testimonial, materially change its meaning, or condition compensation or an incentive on expressing a positive or negative sentiment. A displayed testimonial reflects the submitting Mechanic’s experience and is not a guarantee of typical results. Any material incentive or relationship must be clearly disclosed where required by law, and Carifu will not represent that selected testimonials reflect all feedback received unless that is accurate.
10A. Support Tickets
Users may submit Support Tickets through available Platform tools. Provide accurate information and do not include unnecessary sensitive information. Carifu may categorize, prioritize, assign, investigate, respond to, merge, close, or reopen tickets and may communicate about a ticket by email or in-app message. Submission of a ticket does not guarantee a particular response time, resolution, refund, or outcome unless Carifu expressly agrees otherwise or applicable law requires it.
11. Prohibited Conduct
You agree to use the Platform lawfully and in accordance with the Platform Rules. Prohibited conduct includes fraud and misrepresentation, harassment and discrimination, posting unlawful or infringing Content, manipulating reviews, testimonials, Coupons, or promotions, misusing Support Tickets or in-app messaging, scraping or interfering with the Platform, attempting unauthorized access, and using the Platform to circumvent Carifu or to send unlawful or unconsented messages.
12. Intellectual Property
The Platform and the software, content, designs, text, logos, and branding that Carifu provides are owned or licensed by Carifu and are protected by law. Subject to these Terms, Carifu grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose. Ownership, the user license, permitted use of the Carifu word mark and other protected materials, and copyright complaints are described in the Intellectual Property and DMCA Policy.
13. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time and may request account closure by emailing support@carifu.com or privacy@carifu.com. Carifu may suspend or terminate your access, remove Content, or revoke a Mechanic’s “Verified” designation if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or an incorporated policy, created risk or legal exposure, or where otherwise permitted by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 7, 8, 12, 14, 15, and 16.
14. Disclaimers
The Platform and Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Carifu does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Carifu makes no warranty regarding any Mechanic, Customer, Automotive Services, Quote, Booking, Transaction, or Content, including their quality, safety, legality, licensing, insurance, or suitability. You assume all risk arising from your selection of, and dealings with, other Users and from any Automotive Services. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carifu and its officers, members, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to the Platform, any Automotive Services, or these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carifu’s total aggregate liability arising from or related to the Platform or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid directly to Carifu in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). These limits apply only to the extent permitted by law and do not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
16. Dispute Resolution; Arbitration; Class-Action Waiver
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of the arbitration provision below. Any court proceeding permitted under these Terms must be brought in Pima County, Arizona, unless applicable law requires otherwise. If you reside in another state, nothing in these Terms deprives you of any consumer protection, privacy, or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived under the laws applicable to you.
Informal resolution first. Before starting an arbitration, you and Carifu agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally. Send a written description of the dispute to legal@carifu.com and allow at least 30 days for the parties to attempt to resolve it.
Binding individual arbitration. Except for the exceptions below, any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA). The AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules apply to disputes with Customers and other consumers, and the AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules apply to disputes with Mechanics and other business users. The applicable rules are available at adr.org or from the AAA on request. The arbitration will take place in, and any related in-person hearing will be held in, Pima County, Arizona, unless the parties agree otherwise or the rules require another location. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Arbitration fees. Filing, administrative, and arbitrator fees will be allocated in accordance with the applicable AAA rules and applicable law.
Hearings. Where the applicable rules permit, an arbitration may be conducted by telephone or video, or decided on the documents only, without an in-person hearing.
Coordinated filings. If 25 or more substantially similar arbitration demands are submitted by or with the assistance of the same or coordinated counsel, the parties agree that these demands may be administered together in batches to promote efficiency, as permitted by the applicable AAA rules and any applicable mass-arbitration procedures.
Authority of the arbitrator. Subject to applicable law, and except for the class-action and representative-action waiver below, the arbitrator has authority to resolve disputes about the interpretation, scope, applicability, and enforceability of this arbitration provision. Whether the class-action and representative-action waiver is enforceable is decided by a court, not the arbitrator.
Exceptions. Either party may (a) bring an eligible individual claim in a small-claims court located in Pima County, Arizona, or in the county where the claimant resides, where permitted by applicable law, and (b) seek injunctive or equitable relief in the state or federal courts located in Pima County, Arizona, for intellectual-property infringement, breach of confidentiality, or similar urgent matters.
Class-action and representative-action waiver. To the maximum extent enforceable under applicable law, you and Carifu agree that each may bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. If this waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim will be severed and heard in the courts located in Pima County, Arizona.
Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration provision by emailing legal@carifu.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms and stating your intent to opt out. Opting out does not affect the other provisions of these Terms.
Limits. Nothing in this Section requires arbitration of a claim to the extent applicable law prohibits it, and any limitation, waiver, or arbitration requirement applies only to the extent permitted by law.
17. Incorporated Policies
The following policies are incorporated into and form part of these Terms: Mechanic Agreement; Privacy and Cookie Policy; Subscription and Refund Terms; SMS and Communications Policy; Verification Terms and Disclaimer; Platform Rules; Intellectual Property and DMCA Policy; Accessibility Statement; and Website and Marketplace Disclaimer. If a policy conflicts with these Terms, these Terms control unless the policy expressly states otherwise.
18. Electronic Communications and Records
When you affirmatively accept the Electronic Records and Signatures Consent presented during registration, you consent to receive and sign Carifu records electronically and confirm that you can access, save, and retain the electronic documents provided to you. Additional disclosures appear in the SMS and Communications Policy. Your recorded electronic acceptances and actions have the same legal effect as a handwritten signature to the extent permitted by law.
19. Changes to These Terms and the Platform
Carifu may modify these Terms or the Platform. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will provide notice, for example by posting the updated Terms with a new effective date or by other reasonable means. Changes are effective when posted unless stated otherwise, and your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform.
20. General
Entire agreement. These Terms and the incorporated policies are the entire agreement between you and Carifu regarding the Platform.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. Carifu may assign these Terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
Relationship. The parties are independent. Nothing creates any employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture between Carifu and any User, or between any two Users.
Force majeure. Carifu is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
