This Website and Marketplace Disclaimer applies to the Platform and supplements the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
1. Informational Nature of Platform Content
Content on the Platform is provided for general informational purposes and to help Customers and Mechanics connect. It is not automotive, mechanical, safety, legal, or financial advice.
2. No Guarantee of Accuracy
Some information on the Platform is provided by Users, including Mechanic profiles, listings, state sales-tax rates, Quotes, invoices, in-app messages, service reminders, Support Tickets, reviews, and Mechanic Testimonials. Carifu does not warrant that this information is accurate, complete, or current, and it may be incomplete or inaccurate.
3. No Endorsement
References to Mechanics, and the “Verified” designation, are not endorsements, recommendations, or guarantees. The meaning and limits of “Verified” are described in the Verification Terms and Disclaimer.
4. Unclaimed and Preloaded Business Profiles
Carifu may create limited, unclaimed profiles for automotive businesses across the United States using public or properly licensed third-party business information. An Unclaimed Profile is clearly and conspicuously labeled “Unclaimed” and displays the following notice:
This business has not claimed or verified this profile. Information may be obtained from public or third-party sources and may be incomplete or outdated. This listing does not indicate participation in, affiliation with, or endorsement by Carifu.
An Unclaimed Profile does not indicate that the business created the profile or participates in Carifu, does not display the “Verified” designation, and does not offer active quote or booking functionality outside an Active Market. A business may claim its profile or request removal or suppression. Carifu does not currently offer corrections or adjustments while a profile remains unclaimed; an authorized representative must first complete the profile-claim process to manage profile information. Claiming and profile statuses are described in Section 4 of the Terms of Service and in the Verification Terms and Disclaimer.
Carifu does not monitor or verify a state sales-tax rate entered by a Mechanic or guarantee the tax calculation shown on a Quote or invoice. The Mechanic is responsible for the rate, taxability determination, sourcing, exemptions, collection, reporting, and remittance relating to Automotive Services. Service reminders are informational only and are not diagnoses, recall notices, warranties, or guarantees that service is due. Mechanic Testimonials are reviewed by Carifu before display but reflect the submitting Mechanic’s experience and do not guarantee typical results.
5. Independent Businesses; No Agency
Mechanics are independent businesses that use the Platform to offer their own Automotive Services. Mechanics are not employees, agents, partners, or franchisees of Carifu, and no Mechanic or Customer has authority to act on Carifu’s behalf.
6. Carifu Is Not a Party to Automotive-Service Transactions
Any Transaction for Automotive Services is formed directly between a Customer and a Mechanic. Carifu is not a party to that Transaction, does not perform, supervise, or control Automotive Services, and does not process Customer payments for Automotive Services during the initial launch.
7. Customer Responsibility
Customers are solely responsible for evaluating and selecting a Mechanic and for their dealings with the Mechanic, including any decision to authorize or pay for Automotive Services.
8. Third-Party Links and Services
The Platform may link to or integrate third-party sites and services. Carifu does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, services, or practices.
9. Liability
The Platform is provided “as is” as described in Section 14 of the Terms of Service, and Carifu’s liability is limited as described in Section 15 of the Terms of Service, in each case to the extent permitted by law.
