This Intellectual Property and DMCA Policy describes ownership of intellectual property on the Platform, the rights granted to Users, permitted use of the Carifu word mark and other protected materials, and how to report copyright infringement. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
1. Ownership of Carifu Intellectual Property
Carifu owns or licenses the software, content, branding, designs, text, logos, and other materials used to operate the Platform. These are protected by intellectual-property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Carifu does not claim ownership of third-party materials or your Content.
2. Limited User License
Subject to the Terms of Service, Carifu grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works of Carifu’s materials, except as expressly permitted.
3. User-Content License
You retain ownership of your Content and grant Carifu the license described in Section 8 of the Terms of Service to host, display, and use your Content to operate, promote, and improve the Platform. You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant that license.
That license does not authorize Carifu to publicly display or use for promotional purposes government-issued identification, verification documents, payment information, private messages, or other nonpublic personal information. Carifu handles such information only as described in the Privacy and Cookie Policy.
4. Feedback
If you send Carifu suggestions or feedback, you grant Carifu a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use it without restriction or obligation to you.
5. Trademarks
Carifu’s pending trademark claim is limited to the word mark Carifu. In ordinary text, refer to the brand as Carifu; where a trademark symbol is appropriate, use Carifu™. This Policy does not claim that the Carifu logo or the “Verified” designation is a registered or pending trademark. The logo, badge artwork, designs, and other original materials may still be protected by copyright or other applicable law. Do not use Carifu™ in a way that falsely implies sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or affiliation; alter or combine it with another mark in a misleading manner; or use it in a domain name, business name, product name, or social handle without written permission. Carifu may revoke permission to use its word mark or provided badge artwork at any time.
6. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
If you believe Content on the Platform infringes your copyright, send a written notice to Carifu’s designated agent that includes: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work; identification of the allegedly infringing material and information sufficient to locate it; your contact information; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
