Canonical route: /legal/communications
This SMS and Communications Policy explains the messages Carifu Technologies LLC (“Carifu,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) sends, how you can control them, and your consent to electronic records. It supplements the Terms of Service and the Privacy and Cookie Policy. Capitalized terms have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
1. Authentication Messages
At launch, Carifu uses SMS through Twilio only to send one-time passcodes for account creation and password reset. These are automated, nonconversational authentication messages. Carifu’s SMS sender is Carifu Technologies LLC, and the sending number is 520-900-6100. Replies to authentication messages are not monitored or supported.
2. Transactional Messages
Carifu may enable additional transactional messages, such as quote, booking, Support Ticket, in-app message, or service-reminder notifications. Service reminders may be created or scheduled using information entered by a Customer or Mechanic. They are informational only and do not constitute a diagnosis, recall notice, warranty, or guarantee that maintenance or repair is due. These categories are separate from the authentication messages described in Section 1, and Carifu may deliver them through the channels described in Sections 4 and 5. Carifu does not represent that every quote, booking, ticket, in-app message, or service-reminder notification is delivered by SMS.
3. Marketing Messages
Carifu is not sending marketing text messages at the initial Tucson launch. If Carifu offers marketing text messages in the future, they will require a separate, optional opt-in that is not a condition of purchase, account creation, or use of the Platform, and you will be able to opt out at any time.
4. Email
Carifu uses Google Workspace for its business email and public contact inboxes. Carifu may send account, security, and service emails related to your use of the Platform.
5. Push Notifications and In-App Messages
Carifu may provide private in-app messaging between Users and may send Platform notifications and in-app messages related to your account, Transactions, Support Tickets, service reminders, and activity. In-app messaging must not be used for harassment, retaliation, unlawful marketing, unsafe content, or circumvention of the Platform. Carifu may retain, review, restrict, or disclose messages as described in the Privacy and Cookie Policy and where reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, investigate reports, enforce policies, or comply with law. You can manage device-level notifications through your device or app settings.
6. SMS Program Disclosures
- Authentication-message frequency depends on account-creation and password-reset requests.
- Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan.
- Carifu’s launch SMS program is one-way and limited to one-time passcodes. Users cannot obtain help or opt out by replying HELP or STOP because replies are not monitored or supported.
- For account or SMS assistance, contact support@carifu.com or call 520-900-6100.
- Marketing text messages are not active at launch.
7. Authentication SMS Controls and Help
Carifu sends an authentication text only when a one-time passcode is requested for account creation or password reset. Replies are not monitored, and replying STOP or HELP will not opt you out or return assistance. If you do not want to receive an authentication text, do not request a code; however, you may be unable to create an account or reset your password until Carifu offers another supported authentication method. For assistance with an unexpected code, your phone number, account access, or password reset, contact support@carifu.com or call 520-900-6100.
8. Number Changes and Reassignment
Tell us promptly if you change or give up the mobile number associated with your account so we can update our records and avoid messaging a reassigned number. You may update your number in your account or by contacting support@carifu.com.
9. Consent Records
Carifu keeps records of phone-number verification and, if marketing messages are offered in the future, records of marketing opt-in and opt-out, to operate the messaging program and honor your choices.
10. Electronic Records and Signatures
When you affirmatively accept the Electronic Records and Signatures Consent presented during registration, you consent to receive and sign Carifu records electronically and confirm that you can access, save, and retain the electronic documents provided to you. This consent applies to the Terms of Service, the incorporated policies, notices, receipts, and updates. Your recorded electronic acceptances and actions have the same legal effect as a handwritten signature to the extent permitted by law.
You provide this consent electronically in a manner that reasonably demonstrates that you can access, save, and retain the electronic records, for example by acting through the device and account you use with the Platform.
You may request a paper copy of any record by contacting support@carifu.com. A reasonable copying or mailing fee may apply, and Carifu will disclose any such fee to you before providing the copy.
You may withdraw your consent to receive records electronically on a going-forward basis, as described in Section 12.
11. Hardware and Software Requirements
To access and retain electronic records, you need a device with internet access, a current web browser or the Carifu app, a valid email address, the ability to view and save PDF or web content, and, for SMS authentication, a mobile phone able to receive text messages. If these hardware or software requirements materially change in a way that creates a risk that you can no longer access or retain electronic records, Carifu will notify you and, where required, give you the opportunity to withdraw your consent without a fee.
12. Withdrawing Electronic Consent
You may withdraw your consent to transact electronically by contacting support@carifu.com. Because the Platform operates electronically, withdrawing consent may mean you can no longer use the Platform. Withdrawal applies going forward only.
13. Updating Your Contact Information
Keep your email address and phone number current in your account so we can deliver records and messages. You can update them in your account or by contacting support@carifu.com.
14. Contact
SMS and account support: support@carifu.com. Telephone: 520-900-6100. Replies to OTP messages are not monitored or supported.
